My Poetry

he was like
Cary Grant
in a tuxedo that fit just right
even while dashing
toward some Monte Carlo casino
toward the object of his desire within

except this isn’t Monte Carlo
and he wasn’t wearing a tux

but other than that
it was
just like that

  1. I like this one quite a bit, too! Well done!

It made me think of Douglas Adams: β€œThe ships hung in the sky in much the same way that bricks don’t.” πŸ™‚

  2. This made me smile and laugh out loud, and honestly, I can’t even say why. Something about it appeals to me, and yet, there remains a hint of something else, a hidden clue, and a feeling that if I keep re-reading it, I may stumble upon some deep and profound truth. But, having read it over and over again, I am simply left with the smile that lingers. Perhaps that is truth enough for one poem… Well done, sir!
