    • “welcoming yet forbidding” – i had this sensation as well. maybe it is the contrast of the delicate and colorful with the heavy and earthen tones.

      • Yes, the tones add to the feeling. I also sensed it within the architecture of the structure and the structure itself — it seemed to have a prison door flanked by huge baskets of sunlight flowers. It’s use in pervious centuries called to question.
        An excellent photography that has stayed in my mind.

  1. Absolutely beautiful and welcoming. Makes me feel like it’s okay to just turn that knob and walk in. The darker side of me, however, is drawn more towards some of the more eerie doors you’ve posted.
